The Deposit Central School Alumni Network (“we,” “our,” or “the Site”) is a private, community-run directory for DCS graduates. We are committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what we will never do with it.

What We Collect

  • Your name and email address when you sign in with Google
  • Your profile photo (provided by Google at sign-in)
  • Alumni record information you confirm or update (graduation year, address, phone, etc.)
  • Verification requests you submit to claim an alumni record

How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate you and maintain your account session
  • To display your alumni profile to other verified members of the directory
  • To allow administrators to verify your alumni status
  • To contact you about your account if you request support

What We Will Never Do

  • We do not sell your data. Your personal information is never sold, rented, or traded to any third party.
  • We do not share your data with advertisers. There are no ads on this site, and no advertising networks receive your information.
  • We do not use your data for marketing. We will not send you unsolicited emails or add you to any mailing lists without your consent.
  • We do not share with data brokers. Your contact details stay within the alumni community.
  • We do not track you across the web. We use no third-party tracking scripts or cross-site analytics.

Who Can See Your Information

Contact details (email, phone, address) are only visible to verified alumni members who are logged in. Public-facing pages do not display private contact information. Site administrators can view all profile data for the purpose of managing the directory.

Data Storage

Your data is stored in a secure, encrypted PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon (neon.tech). Authentication is handled by NextAuth.js using Google OAuth — we never see or store your Google password.

Your Rights

  • You may request to update or correct your profile information at any time.
  • You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
  • You may opt out of having your contact information visible to other members by contacting an administrator.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
